Nine Years and Counting

We didn’t start this blog because we had something to teach.
We started it because we wanted to remember.

Nine Years and Counting is about a life built quietly — in days that don’t look impressive on paper, but feel meaningful when you’re inside them. It’s about being together long enough to know that love isn’t constant excitement, and that travel doesn’t always need a plan.

We live in Manchester. We walk a lot. We eat in the same places more than once. We leave cities without seeing everything. And lately, we’ve learned that slowing down isn’t a luxury — it’s sometimes necessary.

This space exists to write those moments down.

What you’ll find here

You’ll find writing about:

  • slow travel — cities experienced on foot, without lists

  • everyday life in Manchester

  • long relationships and how they change over time

  • food, walks, routines, and places we return to

  • moments when life pauses, and you’re forced to listen

Some posts will be practical. Some will be reflective. Some will be quiet observations that don’t fit neatly into categories.

All of them will be real.

Who this is for

This blog is for people who:

  • are tired of rushing

  • don’t need everything to be productive

  • care more about how something feels than how it looks

  • understand that life changes you, whether you’re ready or not

If you’re looking for perfection, hacks, or constant positivity — this probably isn’t the right place.

But if you value depth, presence, and honesty, you’re welcome here.

If you’d like to read along as we go — slowly — you’re welcome to stay.
